Unlike many other countries we are afforded the unique privilege
in America to select our governmental leadership through a process
of free elections that we individually take part in, called the Vote.
We are entrusted with this process through our forefathers who
made unthinkable sacrifices of their lives, fortunes, and sacred
honor and our veterans who many have given that last good
measure by dying so others might live free. Herein lies the holy
duty of the Vote.
We all can agree there is a considerable disparity between the right
and left ideologies. We can also agree God’s Word is above all
ideologies and the people who proclaim them. So how does God
look at elections? What are the issues important to Him, and how
should we adjust our thinking to God’s Word and vote with integrity
through and by Biblical standards? God exhorts that we must cast
down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against
the knowledge of God and bring into captivity every thought to the
obedience of Christ.
So how does our God view elections? When Jehovah delivered His
children from the brutal bondage of Egypt, He gave them 613
commandments that governed every aspect of their lives. In
essence, it was their Constitution, which was righteousness
nationalized before the world. When they departed from God’s law,
they became a reproach.
Our Vote will determine whether our nation is governed by God’s
laws, which are embedded in our Constitution, or by the absence
of our Vote, which by default, elect left-wing falsehoods that violate
God’s laws and will bring reproach upon our land.
Proverbs 14:34 states, “Righteousness exalteth a nation, but sin is
a reproach to any people.”
So we must look to God, Who is the Author of Liberty when we
vote. It is the duty and the responsibility of God’s people to vote
biblical values. It is our God Who our founders applied to as the
Governor of the Universe for the laws which have become the
foundation of this nation. It is to this trust that we must exercise
the Vote to maintain God-given laws of our land.
God gave the people of Israel 613 commandments, which were
their governing laws, of which His most important were the ten
commandments.
Exodus 34:27 - "And the LORD said unto Moses, Write thou these
words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant
with thee and with Israel."
In casting our Vote, we must consider
these eternal laws.
The number one commandment is “I am the Lord thy God,” which
are public religious acknowledgments that involve the protection of
conscience…
So when we vote, we must ask which platform is going to protect
religious conscience and which is going to punish the right of
religious conscience.
“Thou Shalt Not Kill” is speaking about the shedding of innocent
blood.
Abortion is a curse upon our nation, which has ended 60
million lives of our citizens. We must vote for those who will protect
the life of the unborn.
Jeremiah 2:34 - "Also in thy skirts is found the blood of the souls of
the poor innocents: I have not found it by secret search but upon
all these.
"Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery" - We must vote for the protection
of the traditional family.
An attack on the family is an attack on our
country, for as the family goes, so goes the nation.
"Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness against thy neighbor", refers
to the legal aspect of the court system.
Isaiah lived through the
wicked reign of Manasseh, a vile king. God said to restore
righteousness to a nation, it must be a nation of His laws.
Isaiah 1:26 - "And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy
counselors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The
city of righteousness, the faithful city."
We must vote for those who will continue to appoint Constitutional
Judges, so our Judiciary remains lawful and does not degenerate
into a mechanism for socialistic reengineering. Otherwise, God’s
word warns what will occur in Isaiah 59:14 - "And judgment is turned
away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in
the street, and equity cannot enter."
We must also vote for leadership that will be a friend to the nation
of Israel so our country and our families may receive the blessings
of God.
Galatians 3:8 - "And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify
the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto
Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed."
God has ordained three main institutions: the Home, the
Government, and the Church. The government is never neutral. It
will either protect and promote or punish and prosecute the
traditional family and the Church. The Vote will determine whether
these God-ordained institutions and the liberty which they provide,
be protected or diminished.
Before the 2016 election, there were approximately only 18
percent of Christians who voted. In the 2016 election, there was
an increase from 18 to 81 percent of Christians who voted and elected a President that has given us a space of grace. During the
2018 midterm elections, the Christian Vote again fell off
dramatically, and the results are horrendous.
The future of our nation will be determined by the Christian. It is
liberty or bondage depending upon whether God’s people
participate or separate. "When the righteous are in authority, the
people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people
mourn." - Proverbs 29:2
It is our God-given duty to vote.
In 2020 may we exercise hindsight and turn out the Christian Vote
in historic numbers. This is how our civil liberty will be maintained,
ensuring no government restrictions or restraints will inhibit the
proclamation of the spiritual liberty in the gospel message of the
Lord Jesus Christ.
